In this version, the 2-hour classroom session is omitted, and an itinerary is prepared for tours to different areas outside the city. This option works as a personalized tour with an educational and recreational focus, allowing students to put their language skills into
practice while maximizing their knowledge of the state’s culture. The itinerary can vary based on the students’ interests by adapting it to their preferences. For example, we could visit nearby archaeological sites like Uxmal or Dzibilchaltún, among other locations, if there’s an interest in the history of the Mayan
civilization. Always aligned with the student’s preferences. Similarly, additional workshops (with prior notice and depending on availability) related to Yucatán’s culture can be organized, such as Yucatecan cooking classes, where recipes are learned in Spanish, typical dance sessions (jarana yucateca), or visits to
nearby villages to explore Mayan traditions. In summary, this approach allows students not only to learn the language in a structured way, but also to practice it in a real and meaningful context, connecting
with the culture and people of Mérida.
